Temperament
CGC, TT, TDI
Temperament is the most important criteria in breeding. Mis-markings on
a Malamute get people in an uproar, but they are cosmetic. Tail set is an
important breed characteristic, but a bad one can be lived with in a pet.
Temperament is the one thing that must be strictly adhered to, show dog, working
dog, obedience dog, or pet.
In the Alaskan Malamute, Yesterday & Today, the authors point out that a
good Malamute must have:
 | Good Pedigree |
 | Correct Type, and |
 | Exceptional Temperament |
Not adequate temperament, but exceptional. |
