Nikko was a gift. He didn't come to Wayeh until a 4yo and he was quickly followed by his daughter Kayobi, and late in her life, his mother Cali came to stay as well. Nikko's influence at Wayeh is beyond measure. Now retired, he's helping his daughter Kay raise HER daughter Parka, and the three of them make their own sled team -- ready or not, HERE WE COME! He is a true sweetheart and a big clown. His favorite toys and treats are HIS, but he has a soft mouth when he takes food out of your hand. He is also a Working Team Dog in harness.

10/9/08 -- RIP, Nikko, aged 7.5y. We lost you much too young, Nikki. You loved to chew, you would chew on your grand-daughters if there was nothing else available, it was just your habit to give your fertile brain something to occupy itself. The weekend before you died, you ran with you daughter Kay and your granddaughter Parka, and you all powered down the road headed for the horizon, "Look out Polar Bears, Here we come!" At Wayeh, you leave behind your sweet mother Cali, your daughters Kayobi, Seranade, and pregnant Tori, your granddaughters Parka, Rtic & BaRoo. Sad Mala-woos for you, Nikko, we will miss you forever, you big goof, and we will continue to see you in your kids, that big happy face and bouncing happy-dance when you saw company coming -- all your kids do the same thing. That bass-register gruff of warning to puppies as they chewed on you, right before you got up and walked away in disgust -- they all have your voice. Those sweet almond eyes, those itty bitty ears, and those incredibly massive snow shoe feet -- I see them all around me in your kids. And the way you have of leaning on someone you care about until they staggered backwards and you could laugh up at them with a big toothy grin -- yeah, they do that, too. Wear your silver harness with pride on the other side of the rainbow bridge. Godspeed, Nikko.
