Return to Spotlight
This has been a banner year for Wayeh dogs.
A year ago (Nov 20006) my 40th birthday party was hosted by the AMCA and
hundreds of Malamutes descended on Knoxville for the National Specialty.
<G> I had friends and family come in from as far as Canada and
Florida. Thank-you all! What a way to celebrate!
I took the 3 Charles kids to the National Specialty here in Knoxville. I stewarded obedience & rally (what an experience that was!) and watched as much breed as I could manage while entered in the 3 official & 1 training weightpulls. Maestro earned 1 official leg (and did it on TV), Sunny 1 official leg, and 73lb Storm pulled 1 1000lb leg, and 2 2000lb legs, she's our one-ton Halloween baby who turns 5 today!!!! So the Charles kids are:
AKC mjr ptd/INT CH Wohali on the Wayeh Wind WTD (3/4 WWPD) "Storm"
AKC ptd/INT CH Wayeh Singn N Howln Masasyu WTD (1/4 WWPD) "Maestro"
AKC mjr ptd/INT CH Wayeh Singn Follow Me Masasyu CGC WTD (1/4 WWPD) "Sunny"
This past spring 7yo littermates Tom T. and Singer came out of retirement to earn their AKC Rally Novice to become:
AKC/INT CH Wayeh's Soul Song CGC RN WTD WLD "Singer"
Nat Jr/Nat CH Wayeh's Tom-Tom of SnowSong CGC RN WTD WLD WWPD "Tom T."
Tom was also the IWPA Regional bronze medallist his rookie year, pulling 22%. And both are working therapy dogs in nursing homes & schools..
Also we had 3 CGCs last spring for:
Wayeh Sings to the Rtic Moon CGC RN "Seranade" (Singer's daughter)
AKC ptd Wayeh Winter Wind CGC "Shiver"
AKC ptd Wayeh Racin the Sun CGC "Shadow" (Singer's grand daughter)
And Sunny and Maestro (Singer kids) went to the Franklin shows while their mom and uncle were finishing their RN at the same shows -- Sunny pulled 3 major reserves, a 4pt mjr & a BOB. Maestro 3 major reserves & a BOB -- he's one shy of singled out and looking for majors.
I had to skip the International in Lexington -- which are great for training/socialization/fun and last year we had mother-daughter Group 1s with Sunny & Ryder -- but this year we had 3 grandpups there with the Wohali crowd and 3 INT championships.
Then at Harriman, we brought out puppies Honey and Tori (Puppy group 4), and baby
Music (Singer gr-baby & match group 3).
Then it got hot and we stayed home and tried to stay cool. Except for bringing
home Kotzebue Clay and Czech Brady.
Masasyu's Muddy Waters "Clay"
Ksarah's Hope Inditarod "Brady"
This fall at Chattanooga, Maestro was WD & Shiver WB. Murfreesboro we had several Wayeh dogs and several reserves, that happens when you bring nekkid critters to a dog show. <g> We skipped Williamson Co this year and the Athens UKC shows, but hope to attend both next year.
Just this past weekend Snowman (Singer & Tom's brother) in Florida finished his RAE in 5 weekends to become:
Natl/Intl WSCH-B U-CDX U-AGII WW-CDX WW-RCH Wayeh's Last SnoFall of Summer Ice CGC TT CD RAE "Snow"
His housemate and gr-niece Ryder (Singer gr-baby) is just getting started and earned her first 2 legs in WW Rally Novice this past weekend at Tampa. And is coming out in AKC Novice in January. So until then she is now:
Natl/Intl CH Wayeh Summer Ice Sleigh Ride CGC RA (2/3 WW RN) "Ryder"
And next weekend I'm taking our Czech dog Brady to the Knoxville match, specialty & allbreed shows. He had a 5pt mjr reserve his 1st show as a 10mo, so we have great hopes for him.
That'll finish us up for the fall.
We've been working everyone in harness and working on weightpull training, scootering, carting, and sledding. And the Charles kids should be coming out for their Rally titles (and CGCs) at the Franklin shows next spring. I have puppies in NY, WV, IN, and Nashville coming out soon. Or not. I sell few show puppies as I think the show world has a pretty myopic way of looking at things. If I want something shown, I keep and show it. Which is why I kept 3/4 of
Sunny's litter and 2/3 of Singer's last
litter, so those guys will be doing puppy kindergarten, beginner's obedience, and conformation class this winter/spring, then 'coming out' at our favorite Harriman show which is 13 miles from home.
