Several Tennessee MUSHers work weekends, can't get days off during the week, or have other restrictions on their time.  This list is just events suggested by MUSHers.  If you don't see an event that suits your schedule, suggest an event sleddog@gte.netIf you can come to an event, than come.  If you can't, than come to the next one.  Or the one after that... (Last Year's Schedule.)

9/ 22-23-25-27 - Carting.  Old Dixie Lee/Fire Hall.  2 miles.  Asphalt & grassy fields.  (Spring City, TN)

9/ 27 - Carting. Old Dixie Lee/ Bethel Church. 2 miles. (Spring City, TN)

9/ 29 - Weightpull training session/class. Old Dixie Lee/Fire Hall.  Moonlit Cart run. 2 miles.  (Spring City, TN)

9/ 30 - Carting Pennine. 5 miles (Spring City, TN)

October 2001

10/ 2 - Carting. Old Dixie Lee/Macedonia. 4 miles. Gravel, grass & asphalt. (Spring City, TN)

10/6 - Royal Blue Scouting Trip. 

10/ 7 - Carting. Pennine. 10 miles. Clay road bed.  Alternate: Four-Square Church. (Spring City, TN)

10/11 - Carting. Old Dixie Lee/Four Square Church.  5 miles. (Spring City, TN)

10/ 13 - Carting.  Old Dixie Lee. 12 miles. (( This is my regular run.  But with the addition of highway construction, we have 5-15 miles of flat, continuous red clay roadbed that is 100+ feet wide <G>.  We may try that if it's dry.)) (Spring City, TN)

10/20 - Weightpull & carting Training.  Contact juroblyn@aol.com.  (Murfreesboro, TN.)

November 2001

11/10 - Carting. Pennine. 12 miles (Spring City, TN)

11/17-18 - IWPA Weight Pull.  Tennessee Valley Weight Pull. ( Lenoir City, TN)  Contact John Moyers. This is not a Tennessee MUSH event, but you'll see many of us there.  This event has an entry fee and counts for WWPD (Working Weight Pull Dog) legs & IWPA standings. www.iwpa.net 

December 2001

12/8-9 - IWPA Weight Pull.  2nd Annual Southern Exposure Weightpull.  (Danville, KY). This is not a Tennessee MUSH event, but you'll see many of us there.  This event has an entry fee and counts for WWPD (Working Weight Pull Dog) legs & IWPA standings. www.iwpa.net 

12/29-30 - Carting, Camping. Weavers Bend. 12 miles. (Newport, TN) On the French Broad River - full moon and clearing skies predicted.

January 2002

1/5 - Weightpull & Carting TRAINING. Murfreesboro, TN. Contact sleddog@gte.net.

1/6 - Carting in the SNOW on Old Dixie Lee

1/12 - Carting. Old Dixie Lee. 12 miles.

1/19-20 - IWPA Weight pull.  Sleddog Rescue's IWPA Weight Pull ( Spring City, TN).  Tri-County Saddle Club Arena. IWPA (International Weight Pull Association) sanctioned event.  This is not a Tennessee MUSH event, but you'll see many of us there.  This event has an entry fee and counts for WWPD (Working Weight Pull Dog) legs & IWPA standings.

February 2002

2/2-3 - Carting, camping, packing/hiking.  Second Annual Great Southern Rig Run - NOTE NEW LOCATION!  Weavers Bend (Newport, TN) Camping, Carting, Hiking. 5- or 10-mile routes.

2/16-17 - Carting, Hiking. Picket State Park. (Jamestown, TN) 5- or 10-mile routes.  

March 2002

3/2 - Packing/hiking.  Cumberland Trial/Grassy Cove Segment. 12 miles.

3/16 - Packing/hiking. Cumberland Trail/Piney River Segment.  10 miles.

April 2002

 

Proposed Excellent Carting Legs -- 75 miles in GA/AL on the Silver Comet/Chief Ladiga Rails-to-Trails.  Wheelchair accessible, dogs allowed, bikes, and hiking.

Proposed WPD TITLE (not just a leg) -- Max Patch Bald in the Smoky Mountains, TN/NC Description: This will be a 15-mile hike in, overnight camping, and 15-mile hike out.  Lots of shallow streams to cross, uphill the first day, downhill the second day.  Camping is not necessary for legs, but is for title.  Legs: 30-mile + overnight camping Working Pack Dog (WPD) 4 legs.
