Several Tennessee MUSHers work weekends, can't get days off during the week, or have other restrictions on their time.  This list is just events suggested by MUSHers.  If you don't see an event that suits your schedule, suggest an event sleddog@gte.net.  If you can come to an event, than come.  If you can't, than come to the next one.  Or the one after that..

Description: This is a SCOUTING/Training trip for the run on 1/13/01.

"First Annual Great Southern Sled Dog Run" flyer & Pictures
Description: 5-miles upHILL, lunch at the cemetery, and 5-miles downHILL, on PAVED roads.
Legs: 1 each 10-mile WORKING TEAM DOG (WTD)

1/17/01 (Wednesday, 9:00 am EST) Carting - "Old Dixie Lee" Roddy, TN - COMPLETED
Description: This is a SCOUTING/Training trip for the run on 1/20/01.

1/20/01 (Saturday, 9:00 am EST) Carting - "Old Dixie Lee" Roddy, TN - CARTING in the SNOW
Description: 6-miles out & back, FLAT, PAVED roads. 
Legs: 1 each 12-mile WORKING TEAM DOG (WTD) - NONE, as there was one team (weather) and no witnesses.  But we had a blast!  Wa-hoo!

1/22/01 (Monday) Carting - "Wind Rock" Oliver Springs, TN - COMPLETED 1/20, run canceled, terrible conditons, $10 entrance fee
Description: This is a SCOUTING/Training trip for the run on 1/27.  

1/24/01 (Wednesday) Carting - "Wolf Creek / Weaver's Bend" in the Cherokee National Forest, Smoky Mountains, TN/NC - COMPLETED
Description: This is a SCOUTING/Training trip for the Wolf Creek 2/10/01 run and the Weaver's Bend 2/24/01 run.

1/27/01 (Saturday) Weightpull Practice - Roddy, TN - Rescheduled TBD
Description: This is harness fitting, practice pulls with tires, training techniques.  Good training for carting & sledding as well.

February 2001

2/1/01 (Thursday) Carting - "Weaver's Bend" near Gatlinburg TN
Description: This is a SCOUTING/Training trip for the run on 2/10.  5 Miles up on switchbacks and 5 miles down -- PAVED roads. 
Legs: 1 each 10-mile WORKING TEAM DOG (WTD)

2/3/01 (Saturday) Carting - "Stagecoach" Glen Alice, TN
Description: 2.5-miles in, dead ends at Whites Creek, 2.5 miles back, PAVED road. 

2/10/01 (Saturday) Carting - "Smoky Mountains" near Gatlinburg TN
Description: This is a SCOUTING trip for the run on 2/10.  5 Miles up on switchbacks and 5 miles down -- PAVED roads.
