Calisto
AKC ptd Totem's Mystic Princess "Calisto" Pictured above, Cali is the reason for the creation of TNAMR. After Sleddog Rescue closed (12 years and 700 dogs later), there was still a need for rescue of the big beautiful Malamutes... especially the old ones. Cali's story is not unique. She began in love and warmth, went to her first home, then came back to the breeder. She went to another home when the breeder retired and moved out of state, then when the new owners could no longer keep her, she was homeless. They agreed to let her come south. So through the dedicated selflessness of some volunteers, she came all the way from Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Spring City, Tennessee. You can read the rest of Cali's story at Wayeh, where she is now retired. So, thanks, Cali. Your sweet self started rescue all over again in Tennessee.
