Dugan came to us as a gangly three month old and Stacey "promised" she would train him. Well, 12 year olds have much different ideas and training a dog was not on her agenda, so Mom got to do it. Dugan was enrolled in obedience school immediately (no repeats of Czar's episodes). Dugan earned his CD but on the way to a CDX he was attacked in the ring by another dog during the stays. After that he would never do the out-of-sight group
I was a big, cuddly Teddy Bear type of guy and Desirae called me her "buddy". She thought I saved her when she fell into our pool as a baby. Supposedly I went in the house, found mom and brought her back to the pool and told her Desirae needed help. I loved to play, anytime, anyone, anything, anyplace....... I used to steal Easter egg candy and I always found the eggs that they would hide. I could sniff them out no matter how hard it was. At night I would sneak up on the bed so quietly no one would know until the next morning and then I would act surprised (now how DID I get here?). Twilight Zone Story: The Easter after we lost Dugan I know his spirit was with us because I thought I heard his toenails against the front door -- Stacey heard him too and we looked at each other and said, "Dugan". I heard him again at the back door, making his little sound that he used to make when he wanted in.
