TRAIN Litter NOTES
|
| August 12, 2009 - are we going to get a tie or not,
Pax? His first litter, but Sera isn't getting any younger, and
it's been 2 years since her last litter. We lost her daughter Rtic
on the operating table this Spring and Sera is grieving for her
loss. We got Rtic's brother Akai back, but Sera has always wanted
to mother puppies. She raised Scarlet, Omaha, and then Rtic, and
has always aunted every Wayeh litter. But she wants her own
puppies to raise. And she is such a tender mother, even when they
aren't her puppies.
Pax is very enthusiastic, but not altogether sure of himself. Fingers crossed he gets this right, as Sera will be 5 in February and the timing is right NOW, boy. |

| September - Sera is very pregnant, big as a barn.
See her baby bump...

| October 2, 2009 - Friday - Sera has the strangest cravings, she begs for dried apricots, peanut butter M&Ms, pizza bones, cheese & crackers, apples, and bananas. She's very clingy, doesn't want to be out of site and won't leave the porch to potty unless she is accompanied. It's a full moon tonight and she's had a slight discharge since midnight. | ||||||||||||||||||
| October 5, 2009 - Monday - Press your hand against her
belly and it feels like someone is swimming against your palm, little
legs swimming in a dark sea. She's restless, a little anxious, and
clingy -- wants to be in my lap. So we watch movies together....
she likes action; Fort Apache, the Bronx; Shooter; Sentinel; and loves
musicals... she sings along with Cole Porter in De-Lovely....
Meanwhile I've built the prototype for the Puppy Palace, a 4x4x2 doghouse with a flat, removable lid. It replaces the chewed up plastic dog houses, the numerous grooming tables that have been destroyed, and even a chair -- multi-purpose palaces...

| October 9, 2009 - Friday - No puppies, no sleep, and no
water... oops, the well pump blew up. So I'm getting city water at
long last. Since Sera & I decided this was the TRAIN litter --
yes, of course, she helped <G> -- I can't help but notice the
number of trains that go through, especially in the middle of the night
while Sera and I are taking the air -- at dusk, at midnight, at 3a, just
before daybreak... no worries, she's getting plenty of sleep -- during
the day.
Here are mama Sera & papa Pax, waiting.... |

October 10, 2009 - Saturday, very early.... Pax is a daddy, Hannah & Brady
are first time grandparents, Singer is a granny again, and Cali is a
great-grand granny again.
9 puppies in 2 hours....

| October 16, 2009 - Friday. Added Color Genetics, 1week pics, heads, fronts, stacks, 9 gens, Parents, Pedigree. These guys are a real hoot. The boys are HUGE puppies, and there is 1 seal and 1 gray in each of the boy groups, who would NOT hold still, did NOT want away from mom, and rude of me to interrupt their midnight repast. <G> Mama Sera is very attentive, and daddy Pax really really really wants to come visit.... Sera says No Way, Jose -- Hit the Road, Jack -- Not gonna happen. Pax is dejected, but she'll get over it, | ||||||||||||||||||
| October 24, 2009 (2w) Saturday - Wow, what a difference. We've been doing ENS every morning, and now when I pick them up, they snuggle into my hair -- too sweet -- they all recognize the sound of my voice, and they've started to talk independently, AND their eyes are opened. They've started to get more mobile and I have to herd them back in their crate in the kitchen, or they wander around like little scattered wolves. 2w Pics (tried to get the 4 seal boys in a group shot, but they take up more space than the chair seat now.... <G>) And puppies LOVE the banana taste of the dewormer -- yes, I know what it tastes like, too. After giving them each their dose, they lick each other's muzzles, trying to get more. Then mama Sera tries to help them cuz she likes banana-flavored dewormer as well. | ||||||||||||||||||
| October 31, 2009 (3w) Saturday - Their hair coats are
coming in, their heads keep getting broader and broader, they are aware
and awake and some are cooperating with pictures -- and some not so much
(3w pics). They are
really starting to look like little dogs now. We've had butter,
peanut butter, applesauce, creme cheese, and salmon cat food -- as
tastes only, and they LIKE tastes. And I'm making a point of
taking each one away from the litter for a few minutes every day, walk
around the kitchen with them, hold them while I start email downloading,
take them outside to see sunshine and clouds and a lot of rain
recently. Raindrops on their little heads is very funny (for me,
not so much for them).
Added Sera & Pax's puppy pics to 1w, 2w, 3w, Heads, Fronts, & Stacks (links on left). |

| November 8, 2009 (4w) - They have moved outside into the Puppy Palace, and they are loving' it. They mastered stairs in about 2 seconds, they are eating mom's spilled kibble (Pro Plan Chicken & Rice Performance 30/20), they are drinking water, and best yet, they are responding to Puppy-Puppy by coming running for cuddles and chin scratches and belly rubs. 4w pics | ||||||||||||||||||
December 3, 2009 (almost 8w) - 1st Vet Visit for weights,
fecals, deworming with Interceptor), examinations, first vaccinations,
and microchips!
